Who should I trust with my personal injury claim?

In today’s vast market it can be difficult to find a Solicitor who you can trust to run your claim. There are so many choices as there are so many personal injury law firms.

From my experience, most firms are run in different ways and have varying structures. We have procedures in place to put us ahead of other personal injury law firms. We have to keep ahead of other law firms to allow us to represent as many clients as we can! Here we have a motto that the clients (i.e. you) are the lifeblood of our organisation.

Without clients and claims we would not be here. This is why we put clients at the forefront of our minds throughout the case. We endeavour to make sure our clients are kept regularly updated as to the progress of their claim.

In providing a good service it’s important to manage expectations. We do rely on outside agencies in terms of running a claim. While we try and move cases forward as quickly as possible, there will always be a certain amount of reliance on the other side (i.e. the Defendant or their insurers) and on medical agencies etc. Every firm relies on other parties to an extent. However the law does impose time limits and as soon as the Defendant does not play by the rules then we are entitled to make an application to Court to force progress of the claim.

Obviously a claim is likely to be quicker if the other side actively respond and look to settle the claim. Sometimes the other side will, for whatever reason, drag their heels and this will of course cause a certain amount of delay. Where possible we do not allow the other side to delay the claim. We may give short extensions to allow the Defendant to respond, as this is in everyone’s interest as the Court is always keen to point out that legal proceedings should be a last resort.

Many people will take advice from friends or family members who may have used a firm in the past and if they were happy with the service then of course it puts your mind at rest. Recommendations of course are very important. We endeavour to ensure that our clients are happy with the service we provide. We are delighted when our clients recommend our services to others, which happens quite a lot. Firms can spend a lot of time and money on advertising, as you will no doubt be aware. There are vast amounts of firms advertising on television and on the radio. However there is no better way to obtain work than client recommendation.

At The Injury Lawyers we try to keep one step ahead of our competitors. We have procedures in place to ensure that you are kept regularly updated. We attempt to contact clients every 14 days with an update. We also use different methods to update our clients from telephone to email to letters.

On occasion there may not be a great deal of progress over 2 weeks (such as when the Defendant is still within the allocated period to respond to a claim, known as the protocol period). We would still provide a quick update so you always know what we are doing to progress your claim.
