Accident on a motorway slip road claim advice

Motorway slip roads can be a notorious accident black spot. There can be as many accidents coming on to a motorway from a slip road as there are from people coming off of motorways using a slip road.

The same rules of the road apply for motorway slip roads: but in case you are unsure as to whether you have a valid claim for personal injury compensation caused by a road accident on a motorway slip road, read on for more advice.

Hit in the back at a roundabout? You may have an almost ‘guaranteed’ claim

Rear end crashes are one of the most common scenarios for car accident injury claims. People fail to stop in time and they hit someone in the back – it’s easily done.

A hot spot for rear end shunt incidents is at the entry to roundabouts where traffic can suddenly slow and where speeds of traffic can vary significantly depending on volumes of cars on the roundabout and the directions they’re coming from. If you are hit at the foot of a roundabout then you have an almost guaranteed claim if you have been injured.

It’s pothole season!

Winter is at an end and if you’re a regular driver on our roads at this time of year, you’ll know that the beginning of Spring is also known as Pothole season – and you’ll be using all your skills on the road to avoid becoming a victim of a pothole accident!

I’m sure many of you have noticed that they’ve sprung up all over the place. Anywhere that saw the snow over the Christmas period is likely to be worse affected. As soon as water seeps in the cracks of the roads and pavements, it can freeze and expand which breaks open the concrete and forms large potholes.

Taxi passenger accident compensation claims

If you have an accident in a collision and you are a passenger in a taxi that was involved, you pretty much have a guaranteed claim for personal injury compensation. If there is a collision, then there should be someone at fault and as such you should be able to make a claim against the driver at fault.

Whether this is the taxi driver or another driver, or even if the blame is split between them, you can still make a full claim for personal injury compensation.

Now, the Christmas season often involves a lot of drinking! So the nights are set to be busy and hopefully people will refrain from drink driving and will use a taxi service. So we are expecting a few calls from people who have been injured in taxi accidents over the festive period!

Should I sue my friend or partner or relative for a car accident?

As a passenger in a collision, you pretty much have a guaranteed claim in law. So if you are injured, you are owed potentially thousands of pounds in compensation.

But is it right to sue someone you know who is at fault? How might it affect them?

The Highway Code and pulling out from a side road accidents

Admittedly we have all had those moments where we think it’s clear to pull out of a side road and then had the shock of a vehicle coming past, leaving us glad that we didn’t decide to just press your foot down! Unfortunately, however, some people do end up pulling out and this can obviously lead to quite a nasty collision.

The Highway Code isn’t “law” but guidelines to govern how people should be driving on the road and as everyone has to take a theory test before being given a full driving license, everybody should know it. Under the Highway Code there is a section dedicated to junctions and this is what I shall focus on in this blog.

Will an insurer always pay an innocent passenger claim?

If you have been passenger in a road traffic accident and have been injured by negligent driving, you may be able to claim for compensation. You can claim compensation from the driver of the car you were a passenger in, or from the driver of the other car, depending on who was responsible for the accident.

Passengers are normally seen to be an innocent party to the accident, and therefore it is very unlikely that passengers are seen as contributing to the cause of the accident. As such, innocent passengers normally have a very strong claim for compensation.

Disputed liability on a roundabout accident

Roundabouts are natural hotspots for accidents. Even the most confident of drivers can struggle with staying in the correct lane on a roundabout they’re not familiar with, and drivers also have a tendency to join a roundabout without correctly checking for oncoming traffic.

The major problem with roundabout accidents is that, on occasions, it can be difficult to tell exactly who is at fault. If someone goes in to the back of you on the entrance to a roundabout, or someone pulls out on you whilst you were already on the roundabout, the other driver should be at fault. But what about if the other diver changes lanes on a multi-lane roundabout and hits your vehicle? Or what if you go in to the back of someone because they sharply pull across you and cut you up?

In these circumstances, you may need to rely upon any of the following to prove your case:
