Personal Injury Lawyers – GO DIRECT!

we are personal injury lawyersIt isn’t always easy searching for the right lawyer to represent you for your personal injury claim. Type any general search term in to Google or another search engine and its likely you will see hundreds of websites all vowing that they are the best choice for you.

We would of course love you to choose us, but in case you do want to shop around, use our guide to find the perfect injury lawyer for you:

Go Direct!

Most websites are not actually law firms, but claims management companies and accident advice services who will refer you to a law firm rather than actually act for you. This can result in you being charged for a middleman just to pass you to another lawyer who may charge as well.

It’s illegal for a lawyer to pay a referral fee to another company for a client being referred, which is what they used to do. Now they cannot do this, you have to ask yourself the question – how is this middleman making any money? It’s probably either illegally, or from you!

So only make enquiries with an actual law firm like us. If the website doesn’t make it clear, give them a call and ask them. If they have a CRM number on their website that usually means they are regulated for claims management activities.

No Cost!

Due to legal reforms that came in to force from April 2013, lawyers are now deducting up to 25% from your payout if you win. On top of that some are asking you to pay for a policy of After The Event insurance, which may even be an upfront payment.

My best advice is to instruct a law firm that still offers 100% compensation like we do. Most don’t, so make sure it’s a genuine offer like ours. Some are a little misleading because they haven’t changed the content on their website following the reforms, and some are offering “100% No Win No Fee” which doesn’t actually necessarily mean 100% compensation. According to our research, most lawyers who look like they offer 100% are not.

Specialist Injury Lawyers

Choosing a law firm that deals with all sorts of different law may not be the best because they may not be able to offer a specialist and bespoke service like we do. For example, we only represent victims for personal injury compensation claims so all our staff are only fighting for compensation victims just like you.

Our staff are not juggling clients from a whole host of areas of law – we’re just concentrating on the only thing we do; fight for personal injury compensation.

Speak to Someone

You can normally get a feel for what the firm will be like just by speaking to someone on the phone. You want someone who is knowledgeable in law, informative about your rights and the process for claiming, and a friendly person who is happy to help you with any advice you need. Some traditional law firms are still in to the habit of talking down to people with a “take it or leave it” attitude. We think this is wrong. Manners cost nothing, and our attitude is to go the extra mile to make sure you’re in the know.
