Are there lawyers who don’t charge you for claims?

You can say that, technically speaking, it would be very rare indeed for a lawyer not to charge you for a claim. When you make a claim for personal injury compensation on a no win, no fee agreement, it is usually the case that the legal fees incurred by your lawyer are your fees. They have to be your fees so we can recover them from the other side.

But since the government changes from April 2013 it is highly likely that you will incur a charge that you will need to pay for yourself. So how does it work and are there lawyers who don’t charge you for claims at all?

The government stopped you from recovering all of your legal fees in April 2013. Now it is common to have to pay a success fee deduction which is normally up to 25% from your claim. The amount of 25% is a common one as this is the maximum that can be deducted from your settlement to cover your solicitor’s success fee.

On top of that, many lawyers have additional percentages; additional charges or upfront fees you have to pay; charges for insurance; and other basic costs you may need to pay for.

Sounds pretty scary and confusing, right? Well here’s some information that should help to put your mind at ease – because it doesn’t have to be a minefield of charges and costs left, right, and centre!

How The Injury Lawyers can offer you their best deal

The success fee deduction is applicable in most cases because the government have stopped you from recovering all your fees from the other side. But you do not have to face upfront charges or costs, and you do not have to stand for additional charges and costs to the success fee deduction.

Sadly it’s the government who stopped you from recovering all your fees from the opponent, and slashed what still can be recovered, so it’s entirely out of our hands.

So here’s how a reputable firm like us work:

  • We do not charge additional fees to get round the success fee cap of 25%
  • There are no upfront costs to pay when using our standard no win, no fee services
  • We do not have to charge you 25% – it all depends on the type of the case and the nature of your injuries

We bespoke our agreements to offer you the best possible deal we can which is aimed at saving you as much money as we can save you. The above is all of course subject to terms and conditions and accepting your case. We normally need to vet the claim to see if it’s a matter we can assist you with, and we can normally do this over the phone on the very first call you have with us.
