Organic Crunchy Peanut Butter recall – foreign objects may pose a choking hazard

Suma have recalled its unsalted Organic Crunchy Peanut Butter following the discovery that the product may contain a foreign body that may pose as a choking hazard, according to the Food Standards Agency (FSA).

A Product Recall Information Notice has been issued by the FSA and details have been released as to how you can find out if your product is affected. If you have been injured because of the presence of a foreign body then please contact our claims helpline on 0800 634 7575.

The recall

The affected product has been confirmed as follows:

• Suma unsalted Organic Crunchy Peanut Butter with ‘Best before’ end of 10 April 2016
• Batch code: 10.04.16 L1228, size: 700g

This is the latest in a recent stint of product recalls caused by foreign objects being potentially present in food items that may post a significant risk of choking, dental injuries, or internal injuries if swallowed.
