Client awarded just over £5,000 for slip in an untidy workplace

Did you know that there are specific regulations that govern the safety of flooring in the workplace? These are known as The Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations and they say that an employer must ensure that traffic routes in the workplace are free from dangers that may cause a person to slip or fall.

Using these important regulations we have obtained just over £5,000 for a client after she slipped in an untidy workplace.

Our client slipped because the floor of the store room she was working in was littered with paper marketing / signage materials that were all over the floor. This was an obvious and easily preventable danger and she was the unfortunate victim of a slipping accident due to the floor being dangerous.

General back injuries and a coccyx injury resulted in our client having to suffer from pain as well as suffer financially through time off work and other expenses incurred. We were more than happy to accept her claim using our genuine no win, no fee arrangement and we quickly submitted her claim using the online portal system for work accidents and persuaded the other side to admit liability.

We obtained expert medical evidence to prove the extent of our client’s injury and loss and we obtained a settlement that our client was happy to agree in a year. The new fast way of working with claims where we submit cases through online portals can really speed up the process which is great for those people who are eager to settle their claims sooner rather than later.

The settlement of just over £5,000 was a great amount for this injuries suffered. We’re happy that we’ve been able to successfully settle yet another claim for a genuine negligence victim who was injured in circumstances that were entirely preventable.
