Bus Crash in London – Dozens Injured, 2 Critically

Sources from the BBC report of a devastating bus crash this morning in London when a double decker collided with a tree on Kensington Road (www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-25465221).

The London fire brigade freed two of the victims who were trapped in the wreckage, and several walking wounded have been treated by emergency services at the scene. Sadly the authorities have confirmed that two of the victims are in a critical condition having suffered serious injuries.

According to the bus director for Transport For London, the bus swerved to avoid hitting another vehicle at around 10:50 this morning. No doubt the seriousness of the incident will lead to a thorough investigation to be carried out to find out more about the circumstances surrounding what exactly has happened.

The images and footage on the report show the extent of the damage – the bus must have hit the tree with a lot of force. The clear up is now underway.

The news comes less than 24 hours after the tragedy of the Apollo Theatre roof collapse in London’s west end injuring more than 70 people in the audience.

We represent a lot of victims for bus accidents claims as they are fairly common. I’ve been involved in one myself. But normally the circumstances aren’t anywhere near as serious as they appear to be in this case. There are too many drivers out there not paying enough attention when it comes to buses pulling in and out of bus stop bays; equally we see a lot of cases involving the bus driver being at fault.

Any road accident can be devastating, but those involving buses tend to be worse given the volume of passengers involved. Hopefully the two victims who are in a critical condition will make a speedy recovery.
