A man has died after getting involved in separating a fight between two dogs in Blackpool. The victim was bitten by both animals in a house in Reads Avenue on Friday evening. The dogs, which were both German Shepherds, were owned by the person with whom the victim shared the property. Both dogs have since been destroyed under the direction of the owner.
According to NHS statistics the number of people attending A&E as a result of dog attacks stands at nearly 3,800 a year.
