Can I claim if I was injured while driving a company car?

company car accident claimsMany people worry about things that they really ought not to when it comes to making a claim for personal injury compensation. It can’t be helped though – if you have no experience or knowledge about how things work, you can’t be expected to simply know all that you need to know!

That’s why we are here – as a firm of specialist injury lawyers, we can advise you and represent you for your claim for personal injury compensation.

How can me driving a company car affect me?

To be fair, as long as someone else was at fault, it shouldn’t really affect you at all. When you make a claim for personal injury compensation for a car accident, you pursue your money from the negligent third party driver’s insurance. You don’t need to have any dealings with the insurers for your employer at all really.

All you need is an expert injury law firm like us and we will do everything for you. So long as you have the registration number of the driver at fault, we can do an insurance search for their information and submit the claim directly to them.

So you don’t need to worry at all!

My employers insurance have offered legal representation – should I take it?

Our advice is always the same here – choose the lawyer that you want to go with. Don’t let someone else decide – you have no idea whether they are any good or not. In the past, insurers would make millions from selling claims to solicitors this way through referral fees. They could get around £1,000 per case. It was often done using the cover of Legal Expenses Insurance.

We were never involved in the referral fee system, and we were happy to see it banned last year. But some are still referring details to solicitors – we have heard that some are doing dodgy backhand deals (which are against the law) or some will end up charging you additional fees to cover referral expenses.

Avoid getting stung – just get your own lawyer!

But the main thing is, to reiterate what I have said above, and to answer the concern about how being in a company car can affect your claim – you needn’t worry. It doesn’t affect it all really. In reality, you will probably not need to deal with any vehicle damages so it can take a little of the stress off of you.
