\"\"At The Injury Lawyers<\/a> we welcome the recent announcement that referral fees have been banned.\u00a0 We believe that this will provide greater transparency within the legal and insurance world and will ensure that the Claimant gets the best possible service.<\/p>\n

A referral fee is a fee paid by a solicitor or claims management company to an insurer for the details of those who have been unfortunate enough to have been involved in an accident and sustained injuries as a result.\u00a0 For example, you have been involved in a road traffic accident<\/a> and suffered a broken arm through no fault of your own.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

Insurers know you have a claim for compensation<\/a> and will provide your details to a solicitor or claims management company who is willing to pay between \u00a3200<\/strong> and \u00a31,000<\/strong> on average for those details.\u00a0 The reason they will pay such a hefty fee is because they know your claim for compensation has excellent prospects of success and that they can get this referral fee back and more in legal costs when they win your case.\u00a0 All they have to do is get in touch with you<\/strong>, get you on board<\/strong>, and then win your claim<\/strong> – which is actually quite straightforward.

\nFortunately the above scenario has been outlawed.\u00a0 At The Injury Lawyers we can proudly state that we have never paid a referral fee for a claim<\/strong>.\u00a0 We do not consider this a good thing because in most instances the people who have paid for your claim will harass you to make sure you instruct them to deal with your claim and then they will go about cutting corners to make sure that they can claw back the money they have already paid out in getting your details.\u00a0 They will likely offer lower service levels<\/strong> or may even try to charge you a fee just so they are not at a loss<\/strong>.\u00a0 <\/p>\n
