\"\"If you have been unfortunate enough to have been involved in an accident with an uninsured or untraced driver (i.e. the driver fled the scene without leaving their details), then you may still be entitled to claim for compensation<\/a> through an organisation known as The Motor Insurers Bureau<\/strong> (or MIB for short).<\/p>\n

To not be able to claim for an injury caused by a road accident<\/a> that was not your fault would simply be unfair and unjust; hence why The Motor Insurers Bureau (MIB) was set up in order to deal with uninsured and untraced claims. The MIB also deal with hit and run cases under its untraced agreement.<\/p>\n

The MIB is funded by motor insurance companies and helps around 25,000 people per year make a claim<\/strong>. The fact that it is funded by the insurance companies means that, ultimately, they are funded by us and our insurance premiums – the MIB have calculated this cost to be around \u00a315 – \u00a330 per policy a year.
\n
\nClaiming through the MIB is straightforward, but it is advisable to get a specialist personal injury lawyer on your side<\/strong> in order to take you through the process and act on your behalf. The process is begun with an MIB Claim Form being submitted to them – a good specialist injury lawyer will take you through filling this form out and may submit it on your behalf<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

If the MIB agree to take on your case you would need to attend a medical either arranged by them or your own solicitor – as a result of the examination the consultant will compile a medical report from which a valuation on your claim can be made.<\/p>\n

The MIB will not only deal with compensation for your injuries, but also with financial losses<\/strong> and repairs to your vehicle<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
