It is on these journeys that I have witnessed the aftermath of many accidents, and so come to write this blog today. Being such a frequent user of the motorway, I know that most of the time motorway journeys are uneventful and safe; however, with my experience of working in a personal injury law firm, I know that there are a small minority of drivers where this has not been the case.<\/p>\n<p>Accidents can occur on motorways for many reasons &#8211; I have listed some of these reasons below:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> Driving too closely to the car in front and not taking heed of the traffic slowing down ahead.<\/li>\n<li> Not realising their junction is coming up soon and so cutting across a multitude of lanes to exit the motorway.<\/li>\n<li> Merging lanes without completing the proper checks, and so colliding with another vehicle.<\/li>\n<li> Undertaking \u2013 i.e. overtaking cars in a faster lane<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>If you have been involved in a road accident, there are a few actions which should be taken by you:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Reporting the incident to the Police<\/strong> \u2013 this is necessary as a Police report may need to be compiled. The accident circumstances, as well as your injuries, should be reported as fully and as accurately as possible, as a Police report can be used as evidence for your claim.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Exchanging details<\/strong> \u2013 obtaining the driver at fault\u2019s details is crucial &#8211; by details I mean name, address, registration number and insurance policy details.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Get medically examined<\/strong> &#8211; this will not only allow for your injuries to be assisted with, but \u00a0it also allows the medic to place a note in your medical records.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Lastly, you should seek the advice of a specialist personal <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theinjurylawyers.co.uk\/\">injury lawyer<\/a> to begin a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theinjurylawyers.co.uk\/100-percent-compensation-4u.php\">claim for compensation<\/a>.
