Well, the <em>only way to properly value your injury is with a specialist solicitor<\/em> on board, and a <strong><em>medical report<\/em><\/strong> compiled by an expert. But we can give you a few guides as to what you may be looking at:<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Minor, Moderate, or Severe?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s difficult to assess which of the three main categories your whiplash injury fits in to without proper medical evidence; particularly at the early stages of the claim. Which category you fit in to is entirely dependent on a number of factors, such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>How long you are suffering for<\/li>\n<li>The severity of your suffering<\/li>\n<li>The impact your suffering has had on your life<\/li>\n<li>Whether your injury has exacerbated a previous injury<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Once your specialist solicitor has assessed your medical report and done their homework with a bit of case law (other similar cases in the past), they will combine their expertise with the JSB (Judicial Studies Board) Guidelines which give an indication of what the compensation amount should be worth.<\/p>\n<p><strong>According to the JSB Guidelines:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minor Whiplash injuries are worth between around <em>\u00a31,000 and \u00a35,000<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>Moderate Whiplash injuries are worth anything between <em>\u00a35,000 to \u00a315,000<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>Severe Whiplash injuries \u2013 are worth <em>more than \u00a315,000<\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>On average, <em>most minor whiplash cases do statistically settle for around <strong>\u00a32,500<\/strong><\/em>. A minor whiplash is generally the most common category \u2013 so this statistic gives you a general idea of what you could be looking at.<\/p>\n<p>There are many other things to take in to account \u2013 you are entitled to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theinjurylawyers.co.uk\/100-percent-compensation-4u.php\">compensation<\/a> for the pain, suffering, and inconvenience of your injury, and you are <strong><em>entitled to recover any losses you have incurred<\/em><\/strong>. Common recoverable losses are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Lost Earnings<\/strong>: if you have two weeks off work due to your injuries, we will claim two weeks\u2019 worth of earnings back for you if you do not get any pay! If you get SSP, then we can recover an amount equating to what you should normally earn.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Medical Expenses<\/strong>: if you have had to pay for any medical treatment, we can claim that back for you too.
