According to the sources, a man preparing sandwiches with a loaf of Hovis Best of Both found a dead mouse baked in to the bread!<\/em><\/strong> Take a look at the photographs on the websites \u2013 it\u2019s genuinely sickening! How such a thing could ever have been allowed to happen is bewildering.
\n<\/p>\n

Stephen Force from Oxfordshire bought the loaf online from Tesco\u2019s in January 2009 when he noticed a dark discolouration in the corner of several slices<\/em><\/strong> on the loaf of bread he had bought. Initially, he assumed it was dough that hadn\u2019t mixed properly, as he was preparing sandwiches for his children; upon close inspection, he spotted fur on the object before he realised it was a dead mouse baked in to the corner of the bread!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

You can see from the photos that it\u2019s only a small critter \u2013 covering less than four slices \u2013 it could have easily been missed! God forbid the horror of finding out you have just eaten a part of a dead mouse baked in to a loaf of bread! Mr Forse said \u201cI felt quite shaken. As I was feeling ill I couldn\u2019t face eating anything myself.\u201d<\/p>\n

The report goes on to say that the find was made even worse when Environmental Health paid a visit \u2013 and spotted that the tail was missing<\/span><\/em><\/strong>. Mr Forse went on to say \u201cHer comments made me feel ill once again as there was no indication where the tail was<\/em><\/strong>. Had it fallen off prior to the bread being wrapped or had any of my family eaten it with another slice of bread on a previous day?<\/em><\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n

Premier Foods were ordered to pay \u00a316,821<\/em><\/strong> at Oxford Crown Court on Friday following investigations by Council health Officers. \u00a0They pleaded guilty<\/em><\/strong> to \u201cfailing to ensure all stages of food production were protected against contamination\u201d and \u201cfailing to maintain a robust pest management system\u201d at its South London British bakeries site. But this is still no ordinary case of salmonella or food poisoning from bacteria \u2013 we are talking about a dead mouse in a load of bread!!!<\/em><\/strong> It just seems impossible!<\/p>\n

A Premier Foods spokesman has said \u201cWe apologise profusely for the distress caused as a result of this isolated incident.\u201d Isolated or not, this just should never happen!<\/p>\n
