\"\"Dog attack claims<\/a> are becoming more and more common in the UK. Therefore it\u2019s no surprise that we all fear for the safety of ourselves and our children if we come into contact with them.<\/p>\n

This comes after the BBC revealed another report of a 10 year old girl who has been bitten in the face by a Japanese Akita dog. Toni Clannachan, of Kilmarnock, was attacked by the dog as she was playing in a school friend\u2019s garden, at a house on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Her father, James Dixon, told the Daily Record newspaper: \u201cThese dogs shouldn\u2019t be with families or around kids. They are killing machines.\u201d
\n<\/p>\n

The report said that the attack left Toni needing more than 100 stitches. When asked about the attack, Mr Dixon said: \u201cIf the dog had bit her an inch or so lower it would have severed an artery in her neck and I really think she would have been dead.\u201d<\/p>\n

For Toni it was a lucky escape, she is as her father says lucky to be alive or not to have suffered from more server injuries.<\/p>\n

This is the second attack on a child in a week, following the attack that took place on 10-year-old Rhianna in Scotland as she played on her bike outside her grandma\u2019s house in Dundee.<\/p>\n

Toni was taken to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock, where she is said to be in a stable condition.<\/p>\n

She underwent emergency plastic surgery and was treated for a fractured jaw.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
