\"\"If you have been involved in a road traffic accident<\/a>, you have probably sustained a whiplash injury<\/a>. Try not to be persuaded by insurance or claims management companies; this is because your claim will be under settled in a big way! Insurances companies for the party at fault will probably contact you saying that they can settle you claim in a matter of weeks, and they may even give you an amount they are willing to pay you there and then.

It is actually very wrong of them to do this because your claim cannot be valued until medical evidence is obtained from an expert<\/strong> – the idea of them offering you this amount is so that they can save costs for themselves<\/strong> i.e. legal expenses, time taken to process the claim etc.\u00a0 Don\u2019t be persuaded by their offers because you will probably be suffering in weeks to come. You need to be assessed properly for your own health before you decide to accept any settlement amount. You will also find that insurance firms and claims management companies aren\u2019t qualified<\/strong> to deal with your claim.<\/p>\n

It will be beneficial for you if you choose to place your claim with an independent firm of personal injury solicitors<\/strong>. That way you will know that the company you are dealing with aren\u2019t tied to an insurance company who have time scales by which your claim needs to be settled by, and restrict the level of service they give to you. They won\u2019t have paid any referral fees which may come from your settlement figure, even though you won\u2019t be made aware of it.\u00a0<\/p>\n

You can also potentially recover any expenses you may have had to pay out for as a result of your accident. You might have had to pay for prescription medication or medical treatment, or even perhaps travel expenses. Try and save all receipts of any expenses and send these into your solicitors.<\/p>\n
