The legal drink drive limit is 80 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood, this equates to 35 microgrammes of alcohol per 100ml of breath and 107mg of alcohol per 100ml of urine. Alcohol affects everyone differently and other factors also need to be considered when adhering to the <strong>legal alcohol limits<\/strong> outline above such as; your height, weight, age, gender etc.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.theinjurylawyers.co.uk\/injury-lawyers-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/12\/breathalyser.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"breathalyser\" width=\"500\" height=\"150\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-194\" \/><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The chances of a <a title=\"Road Traffic Accidents \" href=\"http:\/\/www.theinjurylawyers.co.uk\/road_traffic_accidents.php\">Road Traffic Accident (RTA)<\/a> when alcohol is present in the blood stream increases dramatically. Government statistics show that if you are twice of the legal alcohol limit you are 30 times more likely to cause a RTA. That\u2019s putting both yourself and others in serious danger and at risk of injury or even death.<\/p>\n<p>If you cause a RTA as a result of being over the legal alcohol limit as with any other RTA the injured party can <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theinjurylawyers.co.uk\/\" title=\"claim compensation\">claim compensation<\/a> for the injuries they have sustained as a result of your drink driving. The other consequences of drink driving are possibility of losing your license and being disqualified from driving for up to three years, a fine up to \u00a35000 or even a custodial sentence of up to 6 months. <\/p>\n<p><strong>The best advice would be to never drink and drive<\/strong>.
