\"\"According to the BBC, the warden, 55, was writing in his notebook in Quebec Avenue, Southend, when a man and woman approached him.<\/p>\n

The warden was verbally abused by the male of the two, before the man put out the cigarette on the warden\u2019s left cheek and then walked off.<\/p>\n

A police spokesman, who said that the woman laughed during the attack, called it \u201cvicious and totally unprovoked\u201d.<\/em>
\n<\/p>\n

Officer PC Robert Chapman described the warden as \u201cvery badly shaken\u201d<\/em> following the attack.<\/p>\n

The police are appealing for information regarding the attackers from anyone walking or driving in the area on Wednesday afternoon. They are believed to have headed towards Queensway following the incident.<\/p>\n

Alright, so traffic wardens understandably are not everybody\u2019s favourite people in the world but that is absolutely no excuse for this disgusting assault. This is simply a man trying to go about his job and earn a living and that he was subjected to an unprovoked and remorseless attack<\/strong> is both shocking and vile. Hopefully the warden has not suffered any permanent or long lasting scarring as a result of the attack.<\/p>\n

If he has done so, he would be entitled to make a claim for compensation<\/a> through the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (or CICA). The CICA is an organisation that looks to compensate the innocent victims of violent crimes. However, whether the warden can make a successful claim will depend on the severity of his injuries, as the CICA have a minimum severity threshold which needs to be met for\u00a0\u00a0 victim\u2019s injuries to qualify for the \u00a31,000 minimum payout.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
