\"\"It\u2019s a familiar story in the South again today, as heavy overnight snow in parts of east and south Kent has led to hazardous driving conditions and the closure of schools.<\/p>\n

According to the BBC, as much as 15cm (6in) of snow has fallen in some areas.<\/p>\n

The weather has caused considerable problems for those using the M20, A2 and A258 and rail passengers have also been warned to expect cancellations.<\/p>\n

Eurotunnel has suspended services at Folkestone after safety concerns were raised about getting lorries on to trains in the snow.
\n<\/p>\n

Other sufferers include pharmaceutical giant Pfizer\u2019s research and development site in Sandwich, affecting their 2,500 strong workforce.<\/p>\n

The snow began falling in Kent and East Sussex on Wednesday evening, causing delays of hours for some drivers on their way home. Another area under threat is Norfolk, where more snow is forecast and drivers are currently already facing icy conditions.<\/p>\n

Kent County Council said that all primary and secondary routes were gritted\u00a0 on Wednesday in anticipation of the snow, and Chief Inspector Simon Black, of Kent Police, said all main routes in the county were \u201cpassable with care\u201d but some were down to a single lane.<\/p>\n

If you are having to drive in these conditions then try and give yourself as much time as possible to get from A to B. It is important to take account of adverse weather conditions and adjust your driving style accordingly.
