But this next story from the BBC about a spectator who was hit by an out of control parachutist is one of the more peculiar I’ve seen.<\/p>\n

According to the reports<\/a>, an 82 year old spectator was airlifted to hospital after the RAF parachutist missed his drop zone and hit her. Images and videos of the incident show the moment the parachutist impacts with the front of a burger van, hitting the elderly lady as he came down. There were some scenes of panic as red smoke from the parachutist continued to billow out.<\/p>\n

Reports confirm that the parachutist suffered minor injuries, and the elderly victim he hit has suffered from a suspected fractured pelvis. Witnesses reported hearing a loud thump as the collision took place and a moment of silence as people looked on in shock. Thankfully the injuries are not being treated as life threatening and the military and health and safety executive have been notified.<\/p>\n
