Reasonable steps can be all sorts of things &#8211; like risk assessments to stamp out tripping hazards, and making sure there is no way something could fall and injure somebody.<\/p>\n<p>Advertising signs and hoardings, widely used in today&#8217;s heavily commercialised society, can actually pose quite a danger if health and safety isn&#8217;t considered. We have seen circumstances in the past where:<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A sign isn&#8217;t secure and has fallen to the ground, causing a trip hazard.<\/li>\n<li>A sign has fallen and hit someone as it wasn&#8217;t properly secured.<\/li>\n<li>There is a protrusion, perhaps from one of the feet of a standalone sign, causing a tripping hazard.<\/li>\n<li>A sign in an outdoor area is blown over and hits someone or causes a trip hazard.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If any of the above happens, you may have a right to bring a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theinjurylawyers.co.uk\/slips-trips-falls-claims.php\">slip or tripping claim for personal injury compensation<\/a> against whoever is responsible for the premises. Whether it&#8217;s a supermarket, a shop, or a restaurant, they all have to adhere to the law and prevent anyone from being injured. They should all have a policy of public liability insurance to cover them when you need to make a claim.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What can I claim for<\/strong>?<\/p>\n<p>Normally a claim forms in to two parts &#8211; <strong>General Damages<\/strong> and <strong>Special Damages<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>General Damages covers you just for the injury; whether it&#8217;s just some bruising or a break, you can claim for the extent and the length of any suffering caused. Special Damages covers you for losses and expenses like lost earnings or medical expenses.
