\"seekIf you have had an accident that was not your fault, and you are thinking of making a claim, here is one piece of advice I need to give you that could save your claim – have medical attention<\/strong>! Whether it\u2019s a quick visit to your GP or nipping down to your local walk-in centre or to hospital, you should always see someone as soon as possible after your accident.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s important for two reasons \u2013 one is to make sure you\u2019re OK, and the other is for evidence purposes. We will send you to see an expert that is qualified to prove us with a medico-legal report. This report serves two main purposes \u2013 it allows us expert lawyers to value your claim<\/strong>, and it also serves to prove that your injuries were caused as a result of the accident<\/strong>.
\n<\/p>\n

If, as an example, you had a road accident and felt fine for six months and then started feeling whiplash symptoms, it would be unlikely that we could get a medical expert to put their professional reputation on the line and confirm that the symptoms are caused as a result of an accident \u2013 the gap in time is quite large. So it helps to see someone early<\/strong> so that our expert can have a look at your medical records and see you had some attention soon after the accident.<\/p>\n

Another reason why it can help is for treatment purposes. We can actually get you private medical care right from the start of the case<\/strong>, but it helps if your doctor has recommended it to you. Having treatment after it has been recommended allows for a normally easy recover process when it comes to getting their fees paid for by the insurers.<\/p>\n
