\"whatIt’s so common for people to want to know how much they might be awarded for making a claim for compensation<\/a>. The fact is, it’s very hard to tell right from the start of the claim, as it’s all based on medical evidence and losses. So, to help you out, here is a quick guide on the sorts of things we look at when valuing a claim for compensation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Injury<\/strong><\/p>\n

You can, of course, claim for the injury. The amount is based on the severity and length of any pain, suffering, and loss of amenity. Generally speaking, the more you suffer the more we get for you. We value the claim based on medical evidence which we obtain from a suitable qualified expert. If you suffer a broken bone, you will normally be seen by an orthopaedic expert. If you sustained a laceration or a burn, you would commonly see a plastic surgeon.

Lost Earnings<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you are off work due to the injury and lose out on earnings, we can recover these back for you. If you have two weeks off unpaid, we can claim back two weeks\u2019 worth of earnings. If you received sick pay, we will calculate the difference between your normal pay and sick pay to work out the loss. We normally use your wage slips as evidence to show how much you have lost out on.<\/p>\n

Medical Expenses<\/strong><\/p>\n

We\u2019re lucky to have the NHS in this country, so you shouldn\u2019t have to pay for ay operations or treatment. However, you may be on a lengthy waiting list for rehabilitation, so we can step in and arrange for funding if private care that can be chargeable to the other side. That would be a reasonable recoverable expense as it\u2019s not fair for you to have to wait. If you have to pay for prescription medication, we can look to include that as well. Keep you receipts or invoices.<\/p>\n

Other Losses and Expenses<\/strong><\/p>\n

The idea for claiming is that you can recover compensation for the injury and recover compensation for any losses or expenses on your part.
