The standard conditional fee agreement (The No Win No Fee) states that a solicitor will seek to recover fees from the other side. This all seems well and good, but the word seek leaves you open to the possibility that if they have trouble recovering fees from the other side, they are able to come to you for the shortfall. So say the solicitors costs are \u00a35000.00 and the other side agree to pay \u00a33000.00m the shortfall of \u00a32000.00 may have to be covered by yourself. This slight change in wording removes the possibility of us coming to you for any shortfall as it is there in black and white that we can\u2019t<\/strong>. So in the above example; we would not be able to come to you for the \u00a32000.00 shortfall and therefore you would keep every penny of the compensation you are awarded.<\/p>\n

Many people often ask \u201cBut how can you take this case on and not get paid?\u201d- It\u2019s simple- we do get paid (after all we are a business) but you are not the one that does the paying- the defendant is! So although it is touching that people worry about us doing a lot of hard at work for no pay, there is no need to be – you get 100% compensation and we then our costs department goes into negotiations with the other side<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

But what about any administration fees or start up costs<\/strong>?<\/p>\n

Another very common question – there are none of these at all. Any disbursements (so money that we have to pay outright for documentation such as medical records) are recorded on our system and then again recovered from the other side or recovered by insurance if anything with the claim goes south.<\/p>\n
