Slipped in a local shop – can I still claim?

Personal injury claims against the major supermarkets are common given how busy they are and the volume of people who use them. Many people are aware that the big names have the funds available for people to make a claim when they have been injured in an accident that should never have happened.

But what about accidents in local shops? What are your rights and can you still make a claim for personal injury compensation for a slip in a local shop?

You still have the same rights as an injured victim who has slipped in a local shop. They should still have insurance like many of the big name supermarkets have and you are entirely within your rights to make a claim for personal injury compensation.

The same laws that apply to supermarkets apply to local shops as well, and this is primarily The Occupiers Liability Act. Local shops have as much duty to take all reasonable steps to prevent accidents occurring on their premises so you are fully entitled to claim if you have slipped in a local shop.

They ought to have insurance, and if they do, then all we need to do is claim from the insurance that covers them. It’s a fairly easy process to get a claim set up and submit a claim form to the insurers and ask that they investigate the case and come back to us with a decision as to whether they will pay you out or not.

For advice all you need to do is call 0800 634 7575 and we can talk you through the whole process, our no win no fee way of working, and let you know how we can get you the maximum compensation in the shortest possible time.
