Mr L awarded £20,000 for manhole accident compensation claim

We’re pleased to have recently settled Mr L’s claim for personal injury damages after his foot was injured following an incident when he stepped on a defective manhole cover which flipped and went inwards, resulting in injury and loss.

We accepted his instructions for the case and fought to make sure he was awarded the maximum compensation and he settled the claim for the healthy sum of £20,000.

He was initially unable to weight bare as a result of the incident and the symptoms were quite severe and exacerbated a previous injury he had had to the area. There was ligament damage in the ankle area and he unfortunately lost his job following the accident.

Plenty of medical evidence and physiotherapy was required to justify the extent of the injuries and assists with the treatment. All of our medical evidence is obtained privately by highly qualified experts of our choosing. We always aim to ensure that we obtain the best reports we can from our experts to enable us to fight for the highest payouts possible.

The nature of these ankle injuries and the amount of long term inability to work that was suffered resulted in an offer being made of £20,000 for his injuries and losses, and he was happy to accept this. We are glad to have been able to help Mr L in his fight for justice and we are happy that he has received a good settlement.
